Redemption is coming! We're putting the Wild West into Wildwoodz with our biggest project yet. The town of Redemption has started construction and should be ready for september.  11 classic gunslinger buildings over one, two and even three stories. We're proud to announce that after our yearly grading today Wildwoodz has been awarded 5 Star Activity Centre status by Visit Scotland! This award makes us the ONLY 5 Star Activity Centre in the whole of the highlands and one of only two paintball venues in Scotland to gain such high status. Obviously we're delighted as along with our 'Accredited Venue' status from the UK paintball federation we can prove that Wildwoodz is a first class day out.

This week we've started construction on three new playing fields. Yes three. In a massive expansion of the venue were installing some very exciting stuff. Try this for size.....'Redemption', a custom built wild west town with  two storey saloon, three storey church, sherrifs office, bank, undertakers, hardware store and many more. Our Annual Christmas Charity Walk on event this year is on Sunday 19th December. Our chosen charity is 'Help for Heroes!' As usual there will be a charity auction at lunchtime! Open to rentals and gun owners alike a £10 deposit secures your place.

Wildwoodz now has 2 Paintball World Champions on the staff! Wildwoodz owner Dave Elliott and site Manager Dan Mackenzie attended the Ultimate Woodsball League World Championship at the weekend as part of the Planet Eclipse sponsored team 'Operation Sandbag' and came away with the 1st Place trophy! We're already looking forward to defending the title next year...

Our only big scenario event for 2010 has just been announced! Zombieland will take place on Sunday November 14th and all are welcome. Never been to a Wildwoodz scenario before? We open up all the fields to create larger playing areas and run missions of around 30-40 aside for up to an hour each time. Multiple re-spawns allow players to keep coming back into the games when eliminated.

Zombieland will cover some of the most challenging and entertaining missions you'll ever take part in on the theme of all the best bits from your favourite zombie films. Could you take on the 'Nemesis' zombie? Are you prepared to sacrifice everything you hold dear just to stay alive? Zombieland - Whats your plan?

Price is just £50 per person including rental gear and a box of 2000 paintballs each!!!!

Ross County FC were on site today! Team manager Derek Adams wanted to give the guys a day off training so he gave us a call.... Along with coach Craig Brewster, Derek led the teams through some of the liveliest games you'll ever see with many many grenades being used. As with Caley Thistle final scores were close at the end of the session with only 1 yard seperating winners from losers over 6 games. We'd like to see a play off between the two highland teams now to decide which team are kings of paintball.  Derek Adams thanked the Wildwoodz staff as he left saying "Thanks for looking after my guys - this was just what they needed!" Thanks to Derek for chosing Wildwoodz and for the signed ball he donated to our christmas charity auction.

Today at Wildwoodz we had some very special visitors....Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC. Club captain Richie Foran chose Wildwoodz for an early season team building "getting to know you session". The teams were set into old boys versus new boys and it made for some of the tightest most exciting matches the staff at Wildwoodz have seen in a long time. At the end of normal time the scores were tied 16-16 so in true footballing tradition a play-off ensued. When the dust settled the young boys ended victorious and the old boys clamouring for a re-match!  Richie Foran gave us a few words before congratulating the winning squad.  "We've had a brilliant day out and whilst we've always been a tight knit team i can see that todays event has brought us even closer together. Thanks to Dave and the Wildwoodz staff for looking after us today - it was an awesome experience, see you again very soon!"

We've been asked to hold a singles night to help highland ladies meet new friends in an informal yet fun environment without alcohol and loud music. Our first ever singles evening will be held on Wednesday 23rd June from  6.30pm til 9.30pm. Price is £25 per person which includes your laserstrike game fee and a buffet meal. Nicky T is coming back to Wildwoodz! We've managed to book a 'Winning Skills' clinic with world famous paintball coach Nick Truter on his world tour 2010. Quite simply if you miss this chance to analyse your game one on one with the sports most respected coaches then you should give up and get out the tiddlywinks. For anyone who's playing Laserstrike with us we've injected a new dimension to game sessions. From this weekend on we'll be issuing loyalty cards to all laser players with the chance to move up through the Wildwoodz ranked laser gamers every time you play and earn free sessions! We'll also be running regular competitions via our facebook pages and web forum where registered loyalty card holders can win extra life and re-spawn advantages for their next game. The Wildwoodz hosted Scottish Paintball Players Series of tournaments is opening it's doors to a "Rookie" Division in 2010. If you fancy trying the high octane version of paintball on our inflatable tournament field but dont have any paintball kit of your own - this should be for you! The Rookies will fight it out to find the best new team using at least 3 rental guns per team. The highest placed team at each event will win 5 essential pieces of paintball equipment to help them build their team. Ideal for groups of mates, youth groups and schools.

Since the confidentiality agreement i signed tells me i can now confirm the event i'm proud to announce that Mark Owen of Take That had his Stag Party at Wildwoodz today.

Myself and the staff that worked today aren't allowed to give details on the finer points of the day (you'll have to read about it in Hello magazine), but i can tell you that Mark and his "colleagues" were a great group and that it was a very enjoyable paintball session. He was quite good too and really got into the spirit of things.

Everything else remains private guys so for further comment you'll have to talk to the bands management Warner Music.

I think all the staff from today would like to join me in thanking the group for choosing Wildwoodz and wishing Mark all the best with the wedding tomorrow and with married life. He went out of his way to assist us in promoting the charity game on December 20th and i'm personally in his debt for him doing so. Come back soon.

I'd also like to thank Hamish Clarke (Monarch of the Glen) for taking time out of the session to have his photo taken with my daughter and truly make her day.

Wildwoodz flagship sponsored team Inverness Ice have just returned from the UK Federation Cup in Ancaster, England with.....2nd place! In the best result ever by a Scottish paintball team playing in England, ICE made the finals by beating many more experienced English teams. This result enforces the status of Inverness Ice as Scottish Champions and the Scottish Paintball Players Series as a tournament series that is producing some of the UK's top paintball teams. Ice need help with re-surfacing their training pitch for next season. Read more here>>

The "Temple" playing area is now finally open for Paintball and Lasertag games.  This field has been designed to be one of the hardest gaming tests available - Are you up for the challenge? We at Wildwoodz belive that this is probably the most exciting game map in Scotland - check out the photo's for a glimpse.

"Temple" is not like the standard woodland gaming fields that most of you will have played previously. The big 'stone' effigies that you can see in the picture surround and altar in the middle of the field. Running from the altar area are 8 paths that wind through a heavily overgrown "no mans land" to a circular path around the playing boundaries. In short it's a maze network where you can sneak up on the opposition without being seen - if you're bold enough. Come and experience it for yourself - ring 01381 622220 to get booked in!
